omg, gotta blog qwik today- cant miss the NFL PREGAME SHOWS! I don’t even watch the actual Superbowl (too wiped from pregame)

The best pregame chat comes from guys whose necks are wider than their heads. My PreGame concerns are these: Will The Colts defense, led by free safety Bob Sanders, be able to keep the Bears’ running game in check? What about Indianapolis’ speedy kick-coverage teams? Will they allow Bears return ace Devin Hester, who set a record with six touchdowns in the regular season, to score?

In the end, PreGame is all about (talking about) running the football, and about throwing the football. And about carrying the ball into the endzone in order to score touchdowns.  You know, the intangibles.

Meanwhile, what’s with all the telemarketers hovering on the sidelines during games? Take the headset elsewhere, bud…either watch the game or make the sale, not both. Do not interefere with my NFL experience.

And the important contribution of women to America’s “secular holy day” cannot be overstated.

But did anybody catch Stevie Nicks’ belting out “Stand Back” during the “Tailgating Show”? Don’t know bout you, but when I think Superbowl I think Stevie. Not sure why.

[UPDATE] Great half-time show. Prince was in top form, purple rain fell on cue and it was beautiful. The NYTimes’ KELEFA SANNEH has a report from the show.

Looks like Jimmy Connors is really making a difference in Andy Roddick’s game.

And Serena Williams is into the fourth round.  Serena is the 2005 Australian Open winner, but has struggled a bit.  I’d love to see her do well this year.

My prediction on the men’s side is a safe one: Roger Federer beats somebody (James Blake?) in the final.

For the women’s final, I think it could be Sharapova and Amelie Mauresmo in the final,

but not sure who’ll win…need more time to hedge my bets.
